The animal situation in the Walloon Brabant region is alarming. Recently, our ADT – Animal Disaster Team was dispatched to Perwez to carry out a seizure on behalf of the Walloon Region. What we found there was beyond what we could have imagined: animals kept in deplorable conditions, neglected and abused. Here’s an overview of what was found on site.

The case of the animals: we found a donkey locked in a bolted stall, its hooves neglected for years, evidence of prolonged suffering and neglect. Next to him, was a sheep whose fleece was so thick that it was impossible to feel its skin, the result of years of neglect and insufficient care. Goats, a horse, and chickens were all in unacceptable living conditions.

Faced with this animal tragedy, immediate action was required. All the animals were transferred to various shelters where they will receive the care they need to ensure their well-being.
