RESCUE OF A TIED-UP BUZZARD IN THE WOODS IN MARCINELLE
Last weekend, a rescue operation took place in the Marcinelle woods. Our teams were called in by firefighters from the Hainaut-Est Rescue Zone to help a buzzard found worryingly tied up.
A group of walkers in the woods made a surprising discovery: a buzzard, obviously intentionally tied up. The bird was in a state of distress, unable to free itself from the bonds that imprisoned it.
Once on-site, our rescuers had to be patient and precise in untangling the ties without injuring the bird. After several minutes, we finally succeeded in freeing the bird.
Fortunately, the buzzard was unharmed. Once freed, it was immediately transferred to a specialized care center where it received the necessary treatment. Initial news is reassuring: the bird is in good health and on the road to recovery.
This successful rescue was the fruit of a fine collaboration between our teams and the fire department.
